Developing your personal brand on the web

Published

on

Developing your personal brand on the Web, as an entrepreneur, makes the decision to openly display and share your personality, your desires, your knowledge related to your field of activity or to give your opinion to position yourself and gain visibility and fame in the business world. This is the same thing that luxury watch brands do.

This is a time-consuming process and results in your company’s turnover can be seen in the medium and long term. You decide, for example, to become a blogger. You must strive to adjust your content across all social networks to give them better reach. To achieve more than satisfying results, it is important to stay consistent in all your actions. I can confirm this, having personally developed my personal brand for years. That’s why, I think it’s very useful to share with you, in a nutshell, what helped me the most so far. To go further, I invite you to contact me for a personal consultation.

Retrospect :

Every good strategy starts with an analysis of the current situation versus the situation you want to achieve. This step is to highlight the actions you have asked in the past on the Web besides looking back at yourself, as an entrepreneur, by asking you questions. The answers to these questions are the basis of what your personal brand will be. They will help you determine your unique value proposition.

– Who am I?
– How can I do what I do (my career path, the reason I’m on the web, etc.)
– Do I have a personal mission that encourages me to do what I want to do / what I want to do in my company?
– What achievements are I proud of?
– What is my value?
– What kind of person do I like to work? Or, who are the clients / partners / co-workers that I have enjoyed exchanging / working in the past few years? In what areas of activity did they meet?

– And so on

For example, when doing exercises, I remember comments from someone who knew me well who showed me that I had posted an article on Facebook that did not reflect what I really wanted to say. . This statement made me realize, though it is not always clear, that one must always take the time to reread his writing to ensure that what he publishes reflects one’s thoughts and values. Add to this that entrepreneurship and guidance has come out of the theme I have talked about most since 2006.

Make sure you feel comfortable with the social network you choose :

One of the biggest mistakes I see on the Web is wanting to be anywhere at once. When I started, it was important for me to make sure I felt comfortable with the tool I chose. I made this reflection mainly to make sure to bring regular updates. My strength, for example, is to write more articles than videos. So, I made a decision to focus on blogging and creating content on Linkedin and Facebook even though I occasionally explore other platforms. It must also be remembered that each media responds to the target audience with its strengths and weaknesses.

Analyze the competition :

Take the time to look at where your competitors are, as well as public people who have a strong presence on the web and who inspire you. Analyze their behaviors and the platforms they use in addition to the content they publish there. With this information you will be able to determine on which platform you will be comfortable to start or continue to put your efforts, but above all, recognize and identify the strengths and weaknesses of these people and thereby find how to stand out from your competition.

Know how to adjust :

When you have a good portrait of your current situation versus the one you want to put in place, make different changes to your social networks. For my part, in 2011, I standardized and improved the presentation of my career. I also started doing Web Intelligence on Feedly according to my interests, my values and passions in addition to opening a private Facebook group later (In the minds of entrepreneurs) in order to be in touch with needs of entrepreneurs to inspire me to write my articles.

Tell a story:

Finally, to attract opportunities with your personal brand, you win to tell your story and do it gradually. Indeed, I am of the opinion that people like to follow and live with their interlocutor different emotions. After all, the product you sell is you! From here, too, the importance of letting your personality appear through your brand. This will make it easier for people to associate with you. You will also give them the desire to work with your company or purchase your products or services.
