Summertime is the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors with your family and friends. Whether you are at a BBQ, park, or even at home, there are plenty of fun night games that you can play outside that will keep your nannusays and teens entertained for hours! Here are five of our favorite games you can play outside at night that are sure to keep everyone entertained!

1) Bobbing for Apples

This game requires a bucket, some water, and apples. Place a peeled apple in a bucket of water and let kids take turns trying to grab it with their teeth while they’re blindfolded. The more creative you get with it, the better! Use a variety of small objects like gummy bears, marshmallows, or plastic spoons. As an alternative to bobbing for apples, you can also fill up clear containers with water or colored water to make it more interesting.

2) Light Tennis

Set up light-up rackets and tennis balls along a wall. This game is similar to regular tennis, but in addition to serving and returning, you’ll also have to run and pick up your own shots. The first player to make five consecutive shots wins! The best part is that it’s safe for kids of all ages and athletic abilities because you don’t have to worry about someone throwing or hitting a ball too hard. Just be sure that you or another adult are there every time it’s played!

3) Dodge Ball

Are your nannu says looking for a fun way to get some exercise? Then try implementing Capture the Flag into their playtime routine. All you need is a football, soccer ball, or any other type of ball that can easily be seen in dim light. You’ll want to place two goalposts at opposite ends of a large field and make sure there is enough space between them so players can run back and forth without colliding.

The game should be played in teams with two players per team; you’ll alternate playing offense and defense to ensure each player has an opportunity to score. For example, if one team gets three points, they switch off and must defend their goal while another member tries scoring on their opponent’s goal. The first team with seven points wins!

4) Capture the Flag

Grab a large, dark blanket and spread it out on a grassy field. Divide into two teams, each with their own side of the blanket. Team members are it one at a time while everyone else hides under the blanket—they must find someone on their team to tag first before returning to home base. The game ends when all players have been tagged or when ten minutes have passed (whichever comes first).

5) Corn Hole

Corn hole is a game that gets better with age. This game can be played in most areas since it doesn’t require a large playing area, and you can adjust your boards to fit any space. All you need are two holes, corn-filled bags and friends! To play, place four boards on either side of a space, toss a bag at each one and try to get it in your hole. You score one point for landing in an opponent’s hole or three points if you land your own bag in your opponent’s hole. The first team to reach 21 points wins! In case of ties, play overtime until there is a winner!
